One'd think a book for dummies would be, of all things, SIMPLE. This isn't. I've been marketing for 16 years, found this book to be a horrible START for anyone wanting to market. If the language doesn't bore you to death, the 'do-all-off-this-now' and the 'it's-all-of-the-same-importance' will have you tossing the book far and fast. Hands-down the worst of the 25 marketing books I've read. Try Jack Trout and Al Reiss, Sergio Zyman, or Seth Godin. As a writer I hate to harsh on others, but this was a rough rough read that will confuse the tihs out of you.

Excellent for "dummies", but useful for anyone that wants to get more out of their marketing actions

excellent book for giving you the basics or marketing, and getting you to think with the bigger picture. Includes not only the bigger picture, but also useful details and things you can do right away, without a big budget (or with only a shoe-string budget), to start marketing whatever it is you need to market. Well written and well-thought-through, written by someone who obviously knows his stuff and wants others to be able to think with and use the information being presented. I would recommend it for anyone try to wrap their wits around and trying to figure out what to do first or where to start, or even for someone who is already got some marketing actions going, and wants to be more return on his or her promotion.
