Are you failing miserably at the dating and mating game, or just wondering why some women are effortlessly enjoying the fun of being courted? Or perhaps you’ve bought into the myths of popular culture (i.e. all the good men are taken/gay, etc.) but now it’s high time to bust them. Catherine Haden asks that you take a good long look at yourself, on the inside.

This is a guide that talks mostly of the psychological aspects; information on favorable male to female ratios, cities where the odds are better, etc, are not discussed here. Yet, the psychological aspect is the most important groundwork in the beginning. Are you confident? How do you carry yourself? Things like that really DO matter. I guess if your friends say you’re a great catch but you haven’t dated in like, ten years, think about a geographic move then.

If you read through some of the lists it may surprise you to discover what you have been doing, or not doing that could be a part of self-sabotage. The author’s clear intent was to help single women learn to make that connection.

As women we all have our own desires and we love to have what we like. I have felt the desire in being loved by the man I want. Yet this task seems to be a difficult and this book provides the guide to win that man. Identifying the obstacle and improving the self-esteem is the main thing here. The book provides practical guide to set your mind on the correct cause make you understand what you should do and should not. You can understand what attracts men, what men expect from you and you will be boosted with confidence after reading this book. This book mentions you signs of men which will be really helpful in winning your date. Altogether I find this very useful and valuable practical guide and I highly recommend this for my fellow ladies.

Great guide to Reading in all subjects!

Daniels and Zemelman use humor, practical suggestions, and research to get their point across. If you are looking for NCA or NCLB interventions for improving reading in a specific or all content areas, this book has plenty of material! They include examples, book lists, and classroom best practices as well as discussion of the use or non-use of a textbook. These practices are known quantities, research-supported and all have been used by the authors or by those interviewed for this book. Ta-da, it's all in here!

From the first chapter on I really enjoyed reading this book. The fact the authors are both educators allow them to include numerous anecdotes from their time spent inside and outside the classroom. Even though I am an English teacher I appreciated how this book covered all subjects.

About the Author

This book, just wow. I... I... I don't know what to say. Words cannot describe this magnificent book. If there was an infinity sign for stars on this book, I would rate it Infinity. Loved it. I am eleven years old, just turned like last week,and I recommend this book for children 9or 10 preferring on how mature they are to read all these books. I loved it and will always. Izutsu begins with Ibn 'Arabi, analyzing and isolating the major ontological concepts of this most challenging of Islamic thinkers. Then, in the second part of the book, Izutsu turns his attention to an analysis of parallel concepts of two great Taoist thinkers, Lao-tzu and Chuang-tzu. Only after laying bare the fundamental structure of each world view does Izutsu embark, in the final section of the book, upon a comparative analysis. Only thus, he argues, can he be sure to avoid easy and superficial comparisons. Izutsu maintains that both the Sufi and Taoist world views are based on two pivots—the Absolute Man and the Perfect Man—with a whole system of oncological thought being developed between these two pivots. Izutsu discusses similarities in these ontological systems and advances the hypothesis that certain patterns of mystical and metaphysical thought may be shared even by systems with no apparent historical connection.

This second edition of Sufism and Taoism is the first published in the United States. The original edition, published in English and in Japan, was prized by the few English-speaking scholars who knew of it as a model in the field of comparative philosophy. Making available in English much new material on both sides of its comparison, Sufism and Taoism richly fulfills Izutsu's motivating desire "to open a new vista in the domain of comparative philosophy."

An excellent comparative analysis of the ideas of Ibn Arabi and Lao Tzu. Izutsu very clearly and sytematically presents the underlying metaphysical concepts which serve as the substrate for IA's and LT's respective world-views. Relying on Qashani, a classical Ibn Arabi interpretor, to expound IA's otherwise elliptical and obscure theosophy, the author suceeds in simplifying IA's difficult and mind-boggling ontology which has riddled Muslim scholars for centuries. By bringing to light the profound similarites between IA's and LT's doctrines, some interesting questions are raised which probably can't be answered exclusively by historical scholarship.

If you can only buy one book on WSH, this is the one...

There are quite few titles out there now on Windows Script Host and I must say that out of all of the titles that I have seen, this one is the most balanced in terms of helping out newcomers to the technology, as well as seasoned, hard-core scripters coming from experience with other scripting environments to get "up and running" with WSH, using either VBScript or JScript. Development tools, such as editors, debuggers, etc. are also covered and the companion CD is one of the best collections of MS content (all the reference/Scripting SDK stuff on the MSDN Scripting site) as well as demo versions of some 3rd-party scripting tools, sample code from the book and even a .CHM full-text version of the book itself! The MS content and full-text e-Book have saved my bacon on more than one occasion when doing scripting work where I didn't have 'Net access and needed to look something up or install a tool/example/etc.
The real shame here is that the follow-on title mentioned in this book was just recently cancelled by Microsoft Press!!! I know _I_ felt cheated! (I'd advance-ordered the book - it had an ISBN # and delivery date already assigned, for goodness' sake!)
MS Press, wake up and resurrect this book's sequel! Please!

Comprehensive, excellent for beginners and intermediate

If you are new to WSH and scripting, or want a book that pulls it all together in a very well organized and comprehensive manner, this is for you! Abundant well thought out examples, in both JScript and VBScript with ample in depth explanations. I particularly like the authors consistent use of Object Oriented jargon associated with WSH. The File System I/O is thoroughly treated. Registry access via script is very clearly treated. The "Programming Techniques and Tips" section makes one thurst for the Authors forthcoming title "Advanced Development with ....". Layout of the book is attractive and effective.
